Why should I bother to read all these damn Second Life blogs?
Its simple really, Second Life is a huge fluid community of ever changing ever expanding venues, fashions, trends and technology; its probably impossible for a single individual to keep track of every event, club opening, fashion hiest etc that is occuring across the grid. But the many and varied blogs out there [not this pile of waffle, self deprecation,,waits for the pantomime cries...] do an outstanding job of informing residents of current trends within the grid.
For example, I was over at Moonletters reading an article and as I scrolled down I read a piece by Jellie Arrowmint who was blogging the reopening of a cool Brit club in Second Life. So, intrugued by the possibilities I tp'd over to take a look for myself.
The club is ostensibly an Indie club but reading the promotional information thats been bandied about it appears mod nights are also on the agenda too. Structurally the club has little appeal, architecturally there is little of note but the finishing touches, the minimalism and classic huge posters give the club a cool atmosphere and hugely important there is plenty of room for a large crowd to shake therir shoes off and dance. I am hoping the promised mod nights come to fruition as this would make a fantastic addition to the roll call of mod venues. I guess all they need is mod DJs so if there are any out there maybe they should get in touch and see how things develop. The more mod there is available the better the grid is, just try not to clash with the established times that clubs have already set for mod nights.
